Determined to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, not to let poverty return

The People's Committee of Tay Ninh province has just issued a Plan to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2025, with the goal of reducing the number of poor households by 13.5% compared to the beginning of the year, ensuring that all poor and near-poor households fully enjoy social security policies, improve their quality of life and development opportunities.

Accordingly, the program focuses on helping poor households, near-poor households and newly escaped poverty households to become self-reliant, have jobs, increase income, improve living conditions, access basic social services and participate in health insurance. One of the specific targets is to reduce the rate of stunting in children under 5 years old to below 17.1%.

In 2025, Tay Ninh will implement 07 major project groups: Livelihood diversification and poverty reduction model development project: support production, business, services, tourism, start-ups, transfer of science and technology to poor and near-poor households; priority given to women, people with disabilities, and ethnic minorities. Production development and nutrition improvement project: improve agricultural production capacity, develop agricultural value chains, and improve nutritional quality for poor and near-poor children. Vocational education and sustainable employment development project: vocational training, labor market linkage, modernization of online job exchange system, support for connecting labor supply and demand. Information communication and poverty reduction project: improve capacity of grassroots information system, establish public electronic information clusters at border gates, promote communication on multidimensional poverty reduction, spread the movement "Tay Ninh joins hands for the poor - Leave no one behind". Project to enhance capacity, monitor and evaluate the program: train and improve skills for poverty reduction officers at all levels; strengthen monitoring and evaluation to ensure the program achieves its goals and is effective.

Some other projects such as housing support for poor households, sending workers to work abroad under contracts, etc. are not applicable in the province.

Funding for the program implementation is guaranteed from the central budget, provincial and communal budgets, while maximizing social resources and legal contributions from domestic and foreign enterprises, organizations and individuals.

The Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches and localities to specify their functions and tasks into implementation plans; at the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly remove difficulties, prevent violations, and ensure publicity and transparency.

In particular, propaganda work is identified as a key solution to change awareness, arouse the spirit of self-reliance and self-reliance of the poor, and limit the mindset of waiting for and relying on State support.

The 2025 plan emphasizes giving priority to poor ethnic minority households, households with members who are meritorious people, poor women and children. This is not only a social security policy, but also a solution to promote sustainable socio -economic development and strengthen national defense and security in border areas.
