Lew Palter's real name is Leon Louis Palter, born November 3, 1928. He acted in and directed several plays before joining Millbrook Playhouse in Pennsylvania, in the mid-1960s.

Lew made his screen debut in "Run for Your Life" (1967). After that, the actor appeared in many other projects such as: "It Takes a Thief", "The Virginian", "Gunsmoke" and "Mission: Impossible"...

In "Titanic" (1997), Palter played Isidor, the husband of Lady Ida. He made a strong impression in the scene where he hugged his wife lying on the bed, before the sea flooded in and sank the Titanic.

In fact, the couple recreated the touching true love story of the couple Ida Straus and Isidor Straus. This is also the most famous role in Lew Palter's career.

In addition to his acting achievements, Lew Palter's influence extended to the field of education . He held a respected position as a guidance counselor at the CalArts School of Drama.

Colleagues, students, and even established actors from CalArts' School of Drama remember his enthusiasm. CalArts Dean Travis Preston said Palter's respect for young actors encouraged them to pursue their careers.

"Lew was passionate about acting and inspired generations of students. He nurtured curiosity, interest, intelligence, and humor in every scene, play, or class," said Dean.
