The exhibition is part of a series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Indochina College of Fine Arts, now the Vietnam University of Fine Arts (1925-2025).

The exhibition's name both evokes the basic symbols in graphic language (dash and dot), and is also associated with the binary language typical of the digital design era.
Sharing at the exhibition, Dr. Ho Trong Minh, Deputy Dean in charge of the Department of Graphics, Vietnam University of Fine Arts, said that the exhibition "October" had the participation of many first-generation lecturers such as Mr. Le Thiep, Mr. Tran Viet Son, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen, Mr. Nguyen Nghia Duyen, Ms. Le Mai Khanh, Ms. Tran Tuyet Mai... along with the leadership, management team and all current lecturers of the Department of Graphics. The teachers are shining examples of hard work, creativity and dedication, inspiring the next generations to continue promoting and affirming the value of Vietnamese graphic arts.

According to the Organizing Committee, since the Indochina College of Fine Arts was established in 1925, graphics have been present in the training program through the Decorative Arts subject and the practice of composing and researching woodblock prints.
The school's first graphic prints were also the first Vietnamese modern art works to be introduced in France - an important milestone, affirming the position and pride of the Vietnamese graphic industry.

In the early period after the August Revolution, graphic artists made an important contribution to the country's cultural and political life with many creative forms, such as art paintings, propaganda prints, propaganda posters, as well as applied graphic products such as stamps and paper money.
After peace was restored, graphic arts continued to be maintained and developed in the school's curriculum. From the research on woodblock prints in 1964, to the birth of the Graphic Print Workshop in 1974 and the official establishment of the Department of Graphics in 1977, this field has continued to grow.
Currently, the Faculty of Graphics has developed with two majors: Printmaking Graphics and Graphic Design, attracting a large number of students.
