The survey delegation of the National Assembly's Judiciary Committee worked with the Provincial People's Committee

On the morning of August 15, the Judiciary Committee's survey delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Chairman of the Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly, had a working session with the Provincial People's Committee on the situation of law enforcement in crime prevention and control and law violations; corruption prevention and control; investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of sentences in 2024 in Ninh Thuan province.

According to the report, in recent times, the Provincial People's Committee has focused on directing departments, branches and localities to strictly implement policies and legal regulations on crime prevention and control and law violations; anti-corruption work; investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments in the province. Inspection, examination and supervision activities have been strengthened, promptly detecting, combating and preventing corruption acts and cases. Thereby, creating positive changes, ensuring security and order; contributing to the effective implementation of local socio -economic development tasks. From October 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024, the police force has detected and prosecuted 38 cases/67 subjects violating the law on corruption, economics and smuggling; Detected and administratively sanctioned 180 violations of economic management order with a total fine of over 900 million VND; 228 violations of environment and food safety with a total fine of over 1 billion VND. The Inspectorate conducted 277 inspections, administrative checks, and specialized checks; detected and handled violations with a total fine of over 15 billion VND. The People's Procuracy at all levels received, investigated, accepted, and resolved 1,107 reports and denunciations of crimes, reaching a rate of 100%. The People's Courts at two levels resolved and accepted 3,345/4,489 cases, reaching a rate of 75%...

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee received comments from the members of the Survey Team. The province will direct the inspection and review of the contents of law enforcement in the past time; propose solutions to overcome the existing limitations in the process of implementing the work of preventing and combating crimes and law violations; preventing and combating corruption and the work of investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of sentences. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the National Assembly's Judicial Committee will continue to pay attention to and support training and fostering of experience and skills for law enforcement supervision activities in the locality in the coming time.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Justice, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committees and authorities of Ninh Thuan province and judicial agencies in preventing and combating crimes and violations of the law; preventing and combating corruption; and investigating, prosecuting, trying and executing sentences.

He suggested that Ninh Thuan province continue to promote the propaganda and dissemination of legal education on crime prevention and control; pay attention to implementing measures to prevent corruption; focus on reforming administrative procedures; be open and transparent in purchasing public assets and public administrative procedures. Continue to effectively implement the control of assets and income of people holding positions according to regulations; focus on speeding up the investigation and handling of corruption and negative cases; at the same time, review data, supplement information that the Survey Team is interested in, complete the report and send it to the Survey Team as soon as possible.
