Working with the delegation was Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep.

At the working session, the delegation listened to a report from Gia Lai province on the implementation and results of the work of preventing and combating IUU fishing in recent times.
Together with coastal localities across the country, Gia Lai province has strengthened law enforcement, resolutely preventing and thoroughly handling violations such as: losing connection to vehicle monitoring devices (VMS), and exploiting in foreign waters.
Localities in the province continue to review and promptly issue fishing licenses to qualified fishing vessels, strictly manage unqualified vessels, and focus on consolidating records and thoroughly handling violations of VMS and foreign waters. However, the implementation process still has some difficulties and problems that need to be resolved.
Immediately after the working session, the working group conducted a field inspection at 14 coastal communes and wards in the province. Based on the inspection results, the working group will synthesize specific information and data to report to the Prime Minister , in order to continue directing and improving the effectiveness of IUU fishing prevention and control in the coming time.
