An Giang Provincial Border Guard propagates to ensure security of oil and gas projects

On the morning of October 15, in Binh An commune (An Giang province), the Border Guard Command of An Giang province coordinated with the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) to organize a conference to propagate the security and safety of offshore oil and gas projects.

The conference was attended by Colonel Doan Dinh Tranh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command of An Giang province; representatives of PVEP and more than 200 fishermen and boat owners in Tay Yen and Binh An communes (An Giang province).

PVEP representatives disseminated to delegates the importance of offshore oil and gas projects and gas pipeline systems; security and safety threats in oil and gas exploration and exploitation activities; measures to prevent incidents and accidents; as well as legal regulations related to the safety corridor of oil and gas projects.

Also at the conference, representatives of Tay Yen Border Guard Station informed fishermen and boat owners about regulations on preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, especially new points in handling violations.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also presented 10 bicycles (total value of about 30 million VND) to students who are children of fishermen in difficult circumstances; commended and presented 5 gifts to outstanding fishermen in participating in protecting the security and safety of oil and gas projects at sea and preserving the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
