From craft villages to vibrant cultural spaces

Since the 1990s, Tich Giang has been filled with the sounds of pruning shears, buds, and laughter in gardens filled with colorful leaves and fragrant flowers. The bonsai growing profession here originated from the talented hands of senior artisans such as Mr. Do Xuan, Mr. Nguyen Van Uoc, Mr. Nguyen Tien Cat... They were the ones who sowed the first "seeds" for the movement of growing flowers and creating bonsai shapes in the riverside land.

Over the past three decades, those seeds have now blossomed into a “green kingdom”. Hundreds of hectares of flowers, bonsai, and ornamental plants stretch across the dikes and fields; cooperatives and businesses, such as Mr. Khuat Van Hong’s Ngoc Trang Company or artisans Ha Dat Uy, Nguyen Tien Quang, Kieu Binh Thanh… have risen to become rich from their traditional profession. Each product, each tree shape carries within it the cultural breath of the elegant, creative, and beauty-loving Hanoians .

Not only is it a place to preserve traditional crafts, Tich Giang today is also an attractive destination for tourists who love nature and rural culture. Coming to Tich Giang, visitors can stroll among the colorful flower fields, listen to stories of craft villages, experience flower care, create bonsai with artisans, or choose and buy potted plants and flowers as gifts. All of these create a typical rhythm of life of a "green" countryside - where art, agriculture and tourism blend. In particular, being recognized as a flower and ornamental plant craft village in 2024 has opened up a sustainable development direction for Tich Giang, linking agricultural production with eco-tourism and experience. This is a stepping stone for the locality to gradually affirm its position on the tourism map of the capital.

On an area of over 100 hectares, fields of chrysanthemums, roses and hundreds of species of flowers and ornamental plants are blooming, creating a brilliant scene, reflecting the skillful hands and industrious spirit of the people of the Doai region. Standing out in that space is Tuong Phieu communal house - a special national relic bearing the architectural imprint of the Le Dynasty, crystallizing the historical and cultural values of the ancient land. The harmony between nature, heritage and people has created the tourism product "Tuong Phieu Flower Colors" - a rural destination rich in identity, where visitors can feel the simple, pure and sustainable beauty of a contemporary Hanoi, still filled with the soul of the old countryside.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Tho Commune Kieu Trong Sy shared: "The color of Tuong Phieu flowers is not only a tourism product, but also a symbol of the harmony between nature, people and culture of the Doai region". Between the ancient Tuong Phieu communal house, beside the peaceful Tich River, the flower fields stretch out, the elaborately shaped gardens seem to blend into a vivid picture of the Hanoi countryside, both imbued with the soul of the village and imbued with the breath of the times. Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Tho Commune Kieu Trong Sy emphasized: "Developing rural tourism is not only to welcome guests, but to preserve the soul of the village, nurture memories, make Hanoians and visitors from afar come back and touch the true value of life". There, each flower, each tree shape is the crystallization of sweat, knowledge and love of the land of many generations of Phuc Tho people. Therefore, "The color of Tuong Phieu flowers" is considered a vivid proof of the simple but profound philosophy: "When people love the land, the land will bloom".

In the coming time, Phuc Tho commune will continue to accompany the city and the tourism industry, aiming to build a green, civilized, humane and sustainable destination, contributing to making the capital Hanoi greener, more beautiful and more livable.
