On the evening of August 14, despite the rain, a large number of audiences still braved the rain to come to HTV Theater to watch a special music program in the series "Chatting with Time" organized by HTV. This is a special program honoring the late musician Hoang Hiep, who left a deep impression in the hearts of the public with melodies filled with love for the country and humanity.

Musician Hoang Hiep is known for his songs filled with deep love for his homeland, country, and people. Right from the opening minutes, the audience heard the profound confessions of the late musician Hoang Hiep, not spoken with flowery language, but with simple, sincere memories:

"At the age of 14, the August Revolution and the Southern Resistance War immediately followed, like a river in flood season, sweeping away the flow of people leaving their homeland. All the luggage I brought with me was my childhood memories of a lush, green countryside surrounded by water, a countryside with the graves of my ancestors, a countryside with my mother's lullabies and my father's hard work and worries. I never expected that it would take 30 years after that time away from home to return to my homeland, to return to the "River of Childhood".

The audience was moved when immersed in many melodies associated with the name of musician Hoang Hiep that resonated, awakening the vibrations that were thought to have fallen asleep such as: "The girl sharpening spikes", "The song by the bank of Hien Luong", "Eastern Truong Son, Western Truong Son", "Red leaves", "Love poem of a marine soldier", "Where I met you", "Remembering Hanoi ", "The road with flying tamarind leaves" (poem: Diep Minh Tuyen)...

Musician Hoang Hiep writes for life with a vibrating heart

Most of those songs always feature young men in military uniforms, young female volunteers or people in the silent rear, from the river deltas to the remote mountains and forests.

Wherever there are Vietnamese people, there is patriotism and there is always musician Hoang Hiep writing that noble gratitude. What is special is that the works are composed from poems that slowly enter music in a very natural way so that each melody is both heroic and imbued with lyricism.

It is a very unique feature that turns poems into powerful and profound songs so that listeners not only see the music but also the soul.

The highlight of the show was the gathering of many generations of singers. The veteran singers who were closely associated with and deeply understood his music, gathered at HTV Television Theater to remember him and sing his immortal songs.

The program also featured the appearance of promising young singers, showing that they have always loved the works of musician Hoang Hiep. All were recreated in a realistic and emotional way, helping his life story and music touch the hearts of the audience.

Musician Hoang Hiep contributed in many fields.

In addition to composing songs, Hoang Hiep also left his mark in many genres. He wrote music for dramas such as: "Nguoi ven do", "Mau giay moi", "Xa thanh pho beau"...; composed music for cai luong plays: "Thai hau Duong Van Nga", "Tien va Nghia"...; wrote music for feature films and documentaries: "Canh dong mo uoc", "Ban nhac nguoi tu", "Mua gio dai", "Noi hoi cua tinh yeu", "Biet dong Sai Gon"...

He is also the translator of Spasspbine's Basic Music Theory and the author of many music textbooks. Musician Hoang Hiep is also a talented author with songs that have a youthful vibe, close to the simple life of the people.

After the country was reunified, he returned to the South, worked at the Ho Chi Minh City Music Publishing House, then moved to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association and for a time was the General Secretary of the Association. In a new role, a new position, he always enthusiastically encouraged young musicians to boldly change their thinking, to explore new themes and styles - suitable for young people and the breath of the times.

He opened a professional training class for young musicians, participated as an advisor for the first rock festival in Ho Chi Minh City, the cradle of rock bands like "The Wall", coordinated with the HTV Music Department at that time, musician Nguyen Nam, to organize a campaign to compose songs about Ho Chi Minh City, then proceeded to film and popularize the songs.

As a member of the jury of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest, musician Hoang Hiep has contributed to discovering and nurturing many promising singers.
