Arriving at Kim Bong carpentry village at 7am in early April, we saw hundreds of Western and Asian tourists coming to this carpentry village to visit, buy souvenirs, take photos...

Not only that, they are also quite excited when being guided by artisans in carving wood to create their own favorite products.

When I arrived at Kim Bong carpentry village, the carpenters enthusiastically guided me to use chisels and hammers to carve my name on wood. Hoi An people are very friendly, close and hospitable. Through this trip, I will be able to improve my skills even more.

Similarly, Mrs. LAS, also from the Netherlands, said that she found her trip to Vietnam very meaningful. Especially when she came to Kim Bong carpentry village, she had the opportunity to experience carpentry with the artisans there.

“The products here are very beautiful, I love them and will tell my friends and relatives about this trip” – Ms. LAS expressed.

Mr. Vo Duc Thi - owner of a traditional carpentry workshop in Kim Bong said that Western customers often come to his workshop most from August of the previous year to April of the following lunar year. Every day there are about 100 visitors from both Europe and Asia. They come here and are guided by him to make small, eye-catching wooden products.

“Tourists will not be charged when experiencing my carpentry facility. If they like it, they will give them lucky money, but if not, I will happily accept it. I think the increasing number of tourists coming to Kim Bong carpentry village in particular and Hoi An in general is a good sign.

Kim Bong carpentry village is located on the right bank of the Thu Bon River, just a few strokes of a rowboat from the ancient town of Hoi An. The village of the famous carpenters was originally a mound on the river that is more than 500 years old.
