Coffee prices today October 23, 2025: Strong increase in series

According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnamese coffee exports to the UK reached 28.3 thousand tons, worth 171.5 million USD, up 24.2% in volume and up to 70% in value compared to the same period in 2024.

This result comes from the sharp increase in coffee export prices, helping domestic enterprises expand revenue and strengthen their position in the European market.

Statistics from the International Trade Center (ITC) show that in the first 7 months of 2025, the UK imported 130,500 tons of coffee, down 0.1% in volume but up 43.8% in value over the same period last year.

Vietnam continues to be the second largest coffee supplier to the UK (after Brazil), while increasing its market share from 15% to 20%. In the first 7 months of the year alone, the UK imported 25.6 thousand tons of coffee from Vietnam, up 28% in volume and 107% in value.

Update world coffee prices

At the close of trading on October 22, the price of the online Robusta coffee contract for November 2025 delivery on the London Stock Exchange increased by 1.19% (55 USD/ton) compared to the previous trading session, to 4,675 USD/ton. The contract for January 2026 delivery increased by 0.72% (33 USD/ton), reaching 4,607 USD/ton.

Similarly, on the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee futures for December 2025 delivery continued to increase by 0.56% (2.3 US cents/lb) compared to the previous session, to 415.85 US cents/lb. The contract for March 2026 delivery increased by 0.56% (2.2 US cents/lb), reaching 393.45 US cents/lb.

Experts say the recent spike in global coffee prices is largely due to concerns about supply shortages in major producing countries. In Brazil, the worst drought in more than 70 years has seriously threatened the 2025–2026 crop.

In Vietnam, the new harvest has yet to start in full swing, while inventories have fallen sharply due to continued increases in exports. The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) said this year’s Robusta output may be lower than expected because prolonged hot weather has affected flowering and fruiting.

Another factor driving up coffee prices is the shift in consumption from Arabica to Robusta. As Arabica prices have climbed, many international roasters have switched to cheaper Robusta, reducing raw material costs. This has caused demand for Robusta, especially from Vietnam, to surge amid limited supplies.

In addition to supply and demand factors, the rising cost of coffee production makes it difficult for prices to decrease in the near future. Prices for fertilizer, labor, container shipping costs and cargo insurance have all increased sharply compared to last year. Many coffee exporters said that in order to maintain profits, they were forced to adjust their selling prices accordingly.
