Pepper price today October 23, 2025: Around 146,000 VND/kg

This morning, domestic pepper prices remained stable, fluctuating around 146,000 VND/kg. This price has been maintained for many consecutive days, showing that the pepper price market is entering a period of stability after previous strong fluctuations.

According to experts, the sharp increase in July when pepper prices approached 150,000 VND/kg stemmed from expectations of a scarce supply. However, in recent weeks, pepper price trading activities have returned to more normal.

Maintaining pepper prices in the highlands is considered a positive signal, reflecting that the market is regaining a natural balance between supply and demand.

Experts say that if supply continues to tighten, pepper prices are likely to exceed VND155,000/kg by the end of the month. Conversely, if farmers sell en masse, pepper prices may be adjusted down slightly to reflect increased supply.

Pepper price today in world market

In the world market, based on quotes from exporting enterprises and export prices in countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the latest pepper prices as of October 23, 2025 as follows:

Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged at $7,229 per tonne. Similarly, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged at $10,085 per tonne.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged at USD 6,100/mt.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged at $9,500 per tonne. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged at $12,500 per tonne.

Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged, of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l remains unchanged at 6,400 USD/ton; the price of 550 gr/l remains unchanged at 6,600 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged at USD 9,050/ton.

World pepper prices fluctuate strongly due to the influence of domestic currencies and constantly changing supply conditions. Factors such as plant diseases and severe climate change are causing a significant reduction in pepper productivity and quality.

International experts predict that pepper prices will continue to remain high in the coming time. The main reason is that global supply is decreasing sharply, while demand for pepper in the world market is clearly recovering, especially in European and Middle Eastern countries.

In the long term, the outlook for Vietnamese pepper prices is very positive. Vietnam continues to maintain its position as the world’s largest pepper exporter, contributing about 40% of global output. In addition, rising production costs and the trend of consuming natural spices are helping pepper prices maintain a stable high level.

Experts also believe that climate change will continue to affect the supply in many other pepper growing countries such as India, Indonesia and Brazil. In that context, Vietnam's pepper prices have many opportunities to grow, thanks to both its competitive advantage and the increasingly expanding global demand.
