According to the latest estimates from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in September 2025, Vietnam exported about 22,000 tons of pepper worth 144 million USD. Compared to the previous month, the export volume increased by 2.5% and the value increased by 2.8%. Compared to the same period in 2024, pepper exports increased sharply by 28.6% in volume and 30.6% in value.
In the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 188 thousand tons, bringing in 1.27 billion USD. Although the volume decreased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year, the value increased by 28.7%. The reason is that the world pepper price is at a high level, helping to offset the decline in output and still ensuring a large source of revenue for export enterprises.
In the first 9 months, the average export price of pepper reached 6,774 USD/ton, 37.4% higher than the same period in 2024. In September alone, the export price reached 6,555 USD/ton, a slight increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month and 1.5% higher than the same period last year. This is a signal that pepper still retains its appeal in the international market.
According to the forecast of the Import-Export Department, pepper prices in the coming time will depend largely on weather conditions in growing areas as well as import demand from major markets. However, in the short term, the market outlook is assessed to continue to be favorable thanks to limited supply in some producing countries and the increasing interest of international customers in Vietnamese pepper.
