On the afternoon of October 14, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Director of the Department of Health, inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of storms No. 10 and No. 11 at the General Hospital and Meo Vac Regional Medical Center.

At the meeting, the leaders of Meo Vac General Hospital and Regional Medical Center summarized the operations of each unit. Meo Vac General Hospital currently has 12 departments, with a capacity of 140 beds. Since the beginning of the year, the hospital has examined and treated more than 26,000 patients, of which the bed utilization rate has reached 169% of the planned capacity. The hospital has also effectively promoted the implementation of some new technical applications such as: Electrolyte testing, cervical and lumbar spine traction, etc.

According to the report of the Meo Vac Regional Medical Center, in the recent two storms No. 10 and 11, medical facilities in the area did not suffer any human casualties, basic medical equipment was ensured; medicines and medical supplies were stocked in time to serve the examination, treatment and epidemic prevention after storms. Units proactively issued plans and solutions to respond to natural disasters, ensuring 24/24 duty. Implemented the expanded vaccination work well in 6 communes and stations in the area without interruption due to storms. Maintained the operation of the Search and Rescue, Rescue and Epidemic Prevention Team to ensure on-call personnel, equipment, vehicles, and medicines ready to respond when there are emergency situations of floods, landslides, epidemics caused by storms and other epidemics occurring in the area.

Speaking at the meeting, Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Thanh Hung highly appreciated the proactive and responsible spirit of the General Hospital and Meo Vac Regional Medical Center in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, especially in ensuring medical examination and treatment, expanded vaccination and environmental sanitation after the storm. Strengthening propaganda work in disease prevention and control activities to the people. At the same time, requiring medical facilities to continue strictly implementing the "4 on-site" motto, proactively reviewing and adjusting plans for natural disaster prevention and control; disease prevention and control in accordance with the actual situation of each commune, not to be passive in any situation; at the same time ensuring food safety, environmental sanitation, and preventing disease outbreaks after storms.
