GRDP of many localities in the first 9 months of 2025 achieved a fairly good growth rate

According to the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), in the third quarter of 2025, GRDP growth in many localities maintained its recovery momentum, notably in key economic regions thanks to the flourishing industry, services and tourism. In the first 9 months, many provinces and cities achieved a good growth rate, making a positive contribution to the common goal of the whole country.

However, economic growth among localities is not uniform, there is still a clear differentiation in many provinces and cities. The group of localities with high growth rates is concentrated in provinces with strong economic growth. Processing industry, export, tourism. The group of localities with low growth rates are mainly provinces that depend on agricultural activities, lack investment motivation, and face market difficulties.

Also according to the General Statistics Office, the estimated results of GRDP in the third quarter and the first 9 months of 2025 show that: 3/34 provinces and cities have a GRDP growth rate in the third quarter of over 10%: Quang Ninh (12.88%); Hai Phong (12.47%), Dong Nai (10.18%); 15/34 provinces and cities have a growth rate higher than the GDP growth rate in the third quarter (8.23%).

There are 6/34 provinces and cities with 9-month GRDP growth rate over 10%: Quang Ninh (11.66%), Hai Phong (11.59%), Ninh Binh (10.45%), Phu Tho (10.22%), Quang Ngai (10.15%) and Bac Ninh (10.12%); there are 19/34 provinces and cities with GRDP growth rate higher than GDP growth rate (7.85%). These are provinces with growth rate based on the development of the manufacturing and processing industry. attracting FDI investment

The five provinces with the largest proportion in the country's 9-month GRDP scale are: Ho Chi Minh City (23.73%); Hanoi City (12.44%); Hai Phong City (5.75%); Dong Nai Province (5.34%); Bac Ninh Province (4.09%).

The five provinces with the largest contributions to the growth of the past 9 months of the total 34 provinces and cities are: Ho Chi Minh City (22.73%); Hanoi City (12.88%); Hai Phong City (8.62%); Bac Ninh Province (5.36%); Dong Nai Province (5.23%).

Notably, statistics also show that a number of provinces and cities have become bright spots in tourism with strong recovery momentum in the past 9 months, recording high growth rates in added value of accommodation and food services such as Da Nang 13.92%; Ho Chi Minh City 11.73%; Hue 12.14%, Quang Ninh 12.72%, Thanh Hoa 12.54%, Ninh Binh (14.51%).

Some provinces have high growth thanks to increased new capacity such as Bac Ninh (Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. with a large-scale semiconductor component manufacturing, assembly and testing project); Hai Phong (Vinfast Co., Ltd. continues to expand potential export markets and new products that meet consumer tastes); Quang Ngai has 2 projects of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company in stable operation; Ninh Binh has new companies such as: Xgimi Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd., QMH Co., Ltd.; Seiko Precision Parts Vietnam Co., Ltd.; ADP Industrial Joint Stock Company... contributing to expanding the province's industrial production capacity.

Five provinces with the lowest GRDP growth rate in the third quarter in the country: Son La (1.53%); Vinh Long (5.41%); Cao Bang (5.43%); Tuyen Quang (5.62%); Dak Lak (6.25%). In the first 9 months, the five provinces with the lowest GRDP growth rate in the country include: Son La (6.26%); Vinh Long (6.33%); Lam Dong (6.42%); Cao Bang (6.52%); Dien Bien (6.76%).
