Hanoi still has 21 deeply flooded areas

According to a report by the Hanoi Department of Construction, as of the morning of October 8, the city still had 21 flooded spots over 10cm, of which 12 were over 30cm, and 9 were flooded from 10 - 30cm.

Due to the impact of storm No. 11 causing heavy rain, many streets in Hanoi have been deeply flooded in the past few days, making traffic difficult. As of the morning of October 8, Hanoi still had 21 flooded areas over 10 cm, of which 12 were over 30 cm, and 9 were flooded from 10 cm to 30 cm.

Accordingly, the streets flooded more than 30cm deep include: Duong Dinh Nghe Street, the road surface is flooded 40 - 50cm deep; Tran Binh Street (section from Hospital 19-8) is flooded about 35cm deep; Thang Long Avenue (section from Km5+700 to 6+600) is flooded about 40cm deep; Cau Coc Street (section from alley 43 - 67) is flooded about 50cm deep; Mieu Nha Street (section from the beginning of Nga Bridge at the foot of overpass 70) is flooded about 50cm deep; the underpass for people on the right dike of Nhue River (Km5+070 Thang Long Avenue) is flooded about 40cm deep; the underpass for people on the left dike of Nhue River (Km4+944 Thang Long Avenue) is flooded about 1m deep; Vo Chi Cong Street from Nhat Tan Bridge to Nguyen Hoang Ton is flooded 50cm deep.

On the provincial roads in the old districts of Hoai Duc, Quoc Oai, Thach That, Dan Phuong, Phuc Tho, Ba Vi, Son Tay, many sections were flooded over 30 cm deep. Among them: Provincial Road 421B (Km11+300, the road leading to Dong Yen Bridge) was flooded 38 cm deep; Provincial Road 422 (Km3+164, Trung Vo Bridge) was flooded 40 cm deep; Provincial Road 423 (Km8+400, Temporary Bridge under construction of Bridge 72) was flooded 35 cm deep; Thang Long Boulevard - right intersection (Km8+200) was flooded up to 60 cm deep.

In addition, the roads and streets flooded from 10-30 cm deep include: Pham Hung Street (section adjacent to Mai Dich overpass) flooded about 25 cm deep; Tay Mo Street (section from Tay Mo Ward People's Committee - alley 127) flooded about 30 cm deep; Cau Buu Street (section from Xa La - Vien K intersection) flooded about 30 cm deep; Pham Hung Street (section adjacent to Mai Dich overpass) flooded about 30 cm deep; Ngoc Truc Street (section from alley 31 - Dai Mo intersection) flooded about 25 cm deep; Tay Tuu Street (section from Dam Street intersection) flooded about 30 cm deep; Phung Khoang Street (section from Phung Khoang market) flooded about 20 cm deep; To Huu Street (alley 19 - Luong The Vinh) flooded about 25 cm deep; Provincial Road 422 (section Km14+300, Yen So bridge entrance) flooded 15 cm deep.

Hanoi Drainage Company Limited said that this morning, the Company's forces and vehicles continued to be on duty, operating the main pumping stations according to procedures to lower the system water level and clean to ensure the flow is clear.

Yen So Pumping Station (operating 20/20 pumps), Cau Buu Pumping Station, Dong Bong 1, 2 Pumping Station, Co Nhue Pumping Station, Da Sy Pumping Station... operate at full capacity to lower the water level in the drainage system. In addition, Thanh Liet Dam opens to support drainage for Nhue River.

According to the forecast of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, on October 8, Hanoi will be cloudy, with occasional showers and thunderstorms during the day, with heavy rain in some places; at night the rain will decrease, with southeast winds at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. The company continues to closely monitor weather developments, deploy forces to stay close to the scene, and continuously update information when there are new developments.
