According to the official announcement from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, 2,839 12th grade students from high schools in the city won prizes in the exam to select excellent students in cultural subjects for the 2025-2026 school year. This exam is also the selection round for the excellent student team to compete at the national level.

142 First Prizes.
596 Second Prizes.
807 Third Prizes.
1,294 Consolation prizes.

Organizational Changes: Two-Group Competition
The Hanoi City Excellent Student Selection Exam and the selection of teams for the national level cultural subjects for 12th grade high school students in the 2025-2026 school year took place on September 22-23. The exam attracted the participation of more than 4,900 candidates, a significant increase, more than 500 students compared to last year.
The notable point in terms of expertise and educational management is that the exam is organized in two groups: group A and group B.
Objective of the grouping: The arrangement of two exam groups aims to encourage and motivate the participation of students from non-specialized public high schools.

The significance of national team selection
The results of this exam are important because they are the basis for selecting the elite team to participate in the national excellent student exam. According to the new regulations on the national excellent student exam issued by the Ministry of Education and Training , the number of members of each team participating in the national excellent student exam in Hanoi is still 20 students/team.
This achievement continues the leading tradition of the capital's education. In the 2024-2025 school year, Hanoi had 260 students participating in the national excellent student exam in 13 subjects. Hanoi continues to lead the country in the number and quality of awards with a total of 200 awards, including 12 first prizes.
