Hanoi evaluates and classifies 118 potential 4-star and 5-star OCOP products

On December 30, the Hanoi City OCOP Council held the opening conference to evaluate and classify 118 potential 4-star and 5-star OCOP products in 2024.

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Van Chi, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Hanoi City New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, said that according to the 2024 plan, the city plans to evaluate and classify about 400 OCOP products.

According to regulations, the process of evaluating and classifying OCOP products is carried out at different levels. The district-level council evaluates and classifies 3-star products; the provincial-level council (centrally-run city) evaluates and classifies 4-star products, and the central-level council organizes the evaluation and classification of 5-star products.

Although the city's target for 2024 is to evaluate and classify about 400 OCOP products, up to now, 30/30 districts, towns and cities of Hanoi have completed the evaluation of 606 products, exceeding the set target. Of which, 118 (accounting for 19.5% of the total number of products) have achieved 4-star and 5-star potential, qualified to submit to the City OCOP Council to organize product evaluation and classification.

The work of evaluating and classifying products was carried out by the Hanoi OCOP Council on December 30 and 31. For products achieving 4 stars, the City OCOP Council will submit to the City People's Committee a decision approving the evaluation results and granting certificates. For products achieving 5-star potential, Hanoi will send the dossier to the central level to organize the evaluation, classification and issue a decision approving the evaluation results and certificates for the products.
