The "Legend of Con Dao" Book Fair will have many outstanding activities.

On October 1, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City informed about the Con Dao Book Fair with the theme "Legend of Con Dao", welcoming the 1st Congress of Delegates of Ho Chi Minh City (2025-2030).

The Book Fair takes place from October 3 to 5 at the Welcome Gate on Ton Duc Thang Street, the grounds of the Public House, Ton Duc Thang Park, Con Dao Special Zone with many outstanding activities.

The exhibition areas at the Book Fair are organized according to the following themes: History, land and people of Con Dao; introducing valuable works and documents on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style; achievements in socio -economic development of Ho Chi Minh City in the 2020 - 2025 term...

Within the framework of the Book Fair, there were many outstanding events such as: The opening ceremony and the art program "Poems that shape the country" held on the evening of October 4. Before that, there was a visit to Hang Keo Cemetery, Hang Duong Cemetery, Con Dao Temple, Memorial Stele at the historic Pier 914. Besides, there were also activities to introduce the Nguyen An Ninh Digital Library - Southern Special Topic; awarding the Bookcase project and developing reading culture for organizations and units in Con Dao Special Zone.

On this occasion, many schools in Con Dao Special Zone also held a series of activities to spread "reading lessons" with attractive topics for students such as: "Talking with the future - reading books with me", "Talking with the future - Letter to the future" and "Talking with the future - My dream".

Notably, former Vice President Truong My Hoa and delegates from former Con Dao prisoners will participate in an author exchange, introducing the work The Children of Saigon in the “hell on earth” Con Dao. The event will take place from 7:30 am on October 5 (Sunday) at the main stage of the entrance to Ton Duc Thang Street.

The Book Fair is one of the events to celebrate the 1st Congress of Ho Chi Minh City Delegates for the 2025-2030 term; to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Publishing, Printing and Book Distribution Industry (October 10, 1952 - October 10, 2025), and at the same time is a practical activity to preserve and promote the historical value of the special national relic, contributing to promoting the image of Con Dao.

Within the framework of the Book Fair, the Organizing Committee will present 15 gifts with a total value of 15 million VND to 15 students in especially difficult circumstances, in addition to 500 notebooks, 350 lanterns, 30 cartons of milk, 2 ventilators and other necessities.
