Hanoi commemorates victims of mini apartment fire in Khuong Ha

At the Hanoi Party Committee headquarters, the memorial ceremony was attended by the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, heads of Party committees, and all cadres, civil servants, and employees of the Party committees and the Party Committee Office. After a minute of silence, the delegates joined in supporting the families of the victims of the fire.

At the Hanoi Party Committee headquarters, delegates commemorated the victims of the mini apartment fire.

Officials of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front of Thanh Xuan District participated in the memorial service at the large hall at the district headquarters.

Agencies, units and 11 wards organized internal events at their headquarters or at locations suitable to actual conditions. Some schools have announced to remind students to wear white shirts so that the school can organize a minute of silence.

At 7:30 this morning, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ha Dong district, officials, civil servants and public employees also took a minute of silence to remember the victims who died in the fire at the mini apartment building in Thanh Xuan district .

Also this morning, many agencies and units of Hanoi City observed a minute of silence to commemorate and launch a fundraising campaign to support the victims of the fire.

Thanh Xuan District People's Committee said that as of 4 p.m. on September 17, organizations, individuals, and businesses had supported the victims of the fire on Khuong Ha Street with more than 55 billion VND in cash.

Of which, support through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khuong Dinh ward is more than 49 billion VND; support through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Xuan district is 6 billion 479 million VND.

Previously, on September 13, a 9-storey mini apartment building on Khuong Ha Street (Thanh Xuan District) caught fire, killing 56 people and injuring 37. Of the 29 students affected, 13 died, the rest are being treated at the hospital.
