Hai Duong sets up inspection teams for 4 localities with increased traffic accidents

On July 5, Comrade Luu Van Ban, Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, decided to establish a team to conduct a surprise inspection of the leadership, direction and organization of the implementation of the task of ensuring traffic order and safety in the first 6 months of 2024 in localities with high traffic accidents, including Kinh Mon town and Kim Thanh, Cam Giang and Binh Giang districts.

The inspection team was led by Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Director of the Department of Transport, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee.

Time to organize inspection and report implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee before July 30, 2024.

According to the report of the Traffic Safety Committee of Hai Duong province, in the first 6 months of 2024, there were 407 traffic accidents and collisions in the province, killing 114 people and injuring 353 people. Compared to the same period in 2023, there was an increase of 246 cases (152.8%), an increase of 10 deaths (9.6%), and an increase of 264 injuries (296.6%).

In particular, Kinh Mon town, Kim Thanh, Cam Giang and Binh Giang districts have traffic accidents increasing in all three criteria: number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries.

Specifically, Binh Giang district had 25 traffic accidents and collisions, killing 10 people and injuring 24, an increase of 17 cases, 4 deaths and 20 injuries compared to the same period in 2023.

Kinh Mon town had 32 traffic accidents and collisions, killing 9 people and injuring 31 people, an increase of 26 cases, killing 3 people and injuring 27 people.

Kim Thanh district had 55 traffic accidents and collisions, killing 14 people and injuring 46, an increase of 37 cases, 3 deaths and 39 injuries.

Cam Giang district had 51 traffic accidents and collisions, killing 14 people and injuring 41. Compared to the same period in 2023, there were 38 more cases, 5 deaths, and 36 injuries.
