How did two robbers who opened fire and shot a gold shop owner in Hai Duong escape?

A robber with a gun broke into a gold shop in Hai Duong and shot and injured the owner's son.

Nearly 8 hours after the robbery of Duc Nam gold shop in Dong Cam commune (Kim Thanh district, Hai Duong), the two robbers were arrested while hiding in De Xuyen village (Dai Thang commune, Tien Lang district, Hai Phong ). Before fleeing the scene, the robber shot Nguyen Dang Ninh (born in 1977), causing him to be hit by 2 bullets, 1 bullet under the left chest, 1 bullet in the left thigh.

On the morning of June 8, when VTC News reporters were present, people living around the area where the incident occurred were still in an uproar because up until now, a similar incident had never happened in the area where they lived.

The area where the gold shop robbery occurred on the evening of June 7 in Kim Thanh district (Hai Duong).

"It was around 8 p.m. on June 7. It was raining so everyone went inside and the street was deserted. I heard gunshots and shouts of robbery, but because Mr. Nguyen Dang Nam's house (gold shop owner) was deep inside, I didn't think his gold shop was robbed. Seeing Mr. Th., a neighbor who was sitting outside, running inside, I thought Mr. Th.'s house was robbed," said Ms. H., a resident living near the Duc Nam gold shop.

When he heard the shouts and saw two robbers running out of Mr. Nam's gold shop, Mr. D. (Mrs. H.'s son) also chased after them. At this time, Mrs. H. shouted loudly to warn her son that the suspect had a gun. Unable to catch the two robbers, Mr. D. quickly returned to coordinate with everyone to take Mr. Ninh to the emergency room.

Ms. H. added that when the two robbers ran away, the motorbike they left in the yard was still running. The incident happened very quickly. People then rushed to Duc Nam gold shop and saw Mr. Ninh holding his stomach after being shot. Mr. Ninh also asked people to keep the scene intact for the police to investigate.

Mr. Ninh was then taken to Viet Tiep Hospital (Hai Phong) for emergency treatment and is now in stable condition.

Mr. Th. (a neighbor) added that the two robbers who escaped ran along the road behind his house. Security cameras recorded that one of the two ran limping. After being fought back by the gold shop owner, they quickly left the scene. At the scene of the incident, people saw hammers, masks, bags of gold... The glass cabinet containing gold was also broken. Shards of glass were scattered all over the house.

Hai Duong Province Police said that at around 8:00 p.m. on June 7, Mr. Nguyen Dang Ninh was watching his family's Duc Nam gold shop when two men wearing masks and covered clothes, riding a Yamaha Exciter motorbike, rushed into the shop. One of them pointed a gun at Mr. Ninh to threaten and control him, while the other used a hammer to break the glass to take the gold at the counter. Mr. Ninh shouted and ran out to grab the shirt of the man who was taking the gold.

The young man holding the gun fired at Mr. Ninh. Mr. Ninh was hit by two bullets. The two young men abandoned their motorbike and fled the scene on foot.

On the morning of June 8, with the coordination of the Ministry of Public Security's professional departments, police of relevant units and localities, and people, the authorities arrested Luong Van Dat (born in 1990) and Nguyen Van Doanh (born in 1989, both in Tien Lang district, Hai Phong).

Authorities seized a revolver (with 5 bullets) and other objects related to the robbery.

According to the leader of the People's Committee of Tu Cuong commune, in the locality, Doanh does not have a stable job, is not married, and his family's circumstances are also difficult. Doanh has no criminal record but is being monitored by the commune police because he is involved in social evils.

The case is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
