Previously, on June 14, in the historical waters of Vietnam - Cambodia, Ship 251 and Ship 1141 conducted the 75th annual joint patrol according to the Regulations on joint patrol coordination and establishment of a communication channel between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy, signed by the Commanders of the two navies on September 14, 2002. During the patrol, the two sides performed the greeting procedure between ASEAN naval ships (Hello ASEAN); exchanged information; trained in the use of hand flags; practiced search and rescue and practiced using the Code of Conduct for Unexpected Encounters at Sea of ​​the Western Pacific Navies (CUES).

During the patrol, through communication channels, the Vietnamese and Cambodian navies also actively propagated and mobilized fishermen of the two countries to strictly comply with laws and regulations when exploiting seafood at sea, and not to infringe upon the sovereignty of other countries.
