The workshop aims to continue affirming the position, role, leadership and direction of the Party, directly the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense ; analyze and clarify the process of building, fighting, developing, maturing and the position, importance and contribution of the Military Region 3's armed forces to the revolutionary cause of the Party and our people, especially in the cause of national liberation struggle, building the Army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland.

At the same time, through that, traditional education continues to foster patriotism, national pride, self-respect, the will for independence, self-reliance, self-improvement and the desire for peace ; consolidate and strengthen confidence in the Party's leadership and the development of the Military Region 3's armed forces in the new era; draw lessons for the cause of building the Army, consolidating national defense, protecting the Fatherland in general, building the defense potential and the Military Region 3's armed forces in particular in the new era.

During the preparation process for the workshop, the Organizing Committee received 44 presentations from leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Department of Logistics and Engineering; leaders of a number of central and local departments and branches; leaders and commanders of agencies and units inside and outside the Army; generals, historical witnesses, scientists, veterans... The presentations comprehensively, richly and deeply addressed issues surrounding the workshop's theme.
