On October 5, the Chau Loc Commune Military Command coordinated with the Commune Youth Union to help people harvest rice in Quan hamlet.
Early in the morning, when the sun had just risen above the western mountain range, the fields of Quan hamlet, Chau Loc commune were bustling with the sound of sickles. Unlike usual, today the rice fields were not only occupied by farmers but also by the green shirts of militiamen and youth union members. All were working together to harvest the golden ripe rice fields before storm No. 11 could affect them.

Mr. Vi Van Lam, an old farmer in the village, was gathering bundles of rice and emotionally sharing: “My whole family still has several acres of rice that have not been harvested yet. If we don’t harvest in time and the storm comes, we will lose everything. Luckily, the militia and young people came to help, and my worries are relieved.”
In the fields, the militiamen were quick with their sickles, their shoulders drenched in sweat. Interspersed with them were members of the youth union, some gathering rice, others transporting it. After just one morning, dozens of acres of rice belonging to single-parent families had been neatly harvested. In particular, many rice fields were located deep on the other side of the stream, and to transport them home, they had to wade through the rising water. Regardless of the difficulties, the militiamen and union members carried bundles of rice across the stream, the water reaching up to their waists, the water flowing so fast that everyone had to hold on to each other to keep their balance.
Comrade Chu Viet Hau, Commander of the Chau Loc Commune Military Command, said: "We have proactively made a list of households that do not have enough human resources, especially policy families and single-parent families, to mobilize forces to provide timely support."

It is known that there are still dozens of households in Quan hamlet that have not yet harvested the summer-autumn rice crop. The Commune Military Command and the Youth Union have divided into many groups and organized to go to the fields to support, and it is expected that in two days the entire remaining area will be completed. The image of the "square star" soldiers and local youth working side by side with the people in the rice fields, in the midst of the approaching storm, shows the spirit of solidarity, sharing as well as the initiative and responsibility of the local government and forces in preventing and fighting natural disasters.
Storm No. 11 is forecast to cause widespread heavy rain, posing a risk of flooding and landslides in many areas. In response to this situation, the Border Guard of Nghe An province has deployed synchronous and proactive response measures.

In Chau Khe commune, in recent days, heavy rains and floods have caused many roads to be eroded and collapsed. Some sections of the road have been blocked by rocks and soil, while others have been gouged into ditches, making it extremely difficult for people to travel. Faced with this situation, officers and soldiers of Chau Khe Border Guard Station (Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command) have divided into groups to use shovels and hoes to clear mud and soil, and have proactively exploited available materials on the spot such as boulders, hill soil, and miscellaneous wood to reinforce and fill in eroded sections of the road. Thanks to this, each section of the road has gradually been cleared, allowing people to travel more safely. All work is being carried out urgently, racing against time, helping people feel more secure in disaster prevention and control.
Squadron 2 (Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command) has urgently deployed plans to prevent and combat the storm. 100% of the troops have been mobilized to be on duty, ready to carry out the mission. The communication system, rescue and relief vehicles have been checked and maintained; food, provisions, medicine, and fuel have been fully prepared. Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Bich, Squadron Leader of Squadron 2, said: "The unit has developed a specific plan and deployed it to the squadrons to be ready to carry out the mission; fortified warehouses and barracks, and prepared enough food, provisions, equipment, and means for rescue and relief work."
