According to Tuoi Tre Online reporter's investigation, a few weeks ago, many people in Quang Bieu village, Vinh Hoa commune, Vinh Loc district, Thanh Hoa province had itchy rashes and scratched their skin.

At first, people only had itchy skin on exposed areas such as hands and feet, then it spread all over the body. People went to many places to see doctors and buy medicine for treatment but it did not go away.

According to initial statistics from Vinh Hoa Commune Health Station, up to now, there are 21 households with 43 people in the locality suffering from itching, leaving scratches and dark scars on the skin due to scratching and rubbing, concentrated in skin areas such as the forearms and calves. Many people suffer from itching all over their bodies, affecting their health and daily activities.

After receiving the information, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Center for Disease Control sent specialized staff in conjunction with the Thanh Hoa Dermatology Hospital to Vinh Hoa commune to monitor the epidemic, examine all residents of Quang Bieu village and surrounding areas, and deploy technical expertise to determine the cause of the disease.

The local government and Vinh Hoa Commune Health Station have urged people to stay calm and not panic or worry too much. They should actively clean their houses, blankets, beds, etc. The health sector has sprayed chemicals to treat the local environment.

On April 10, the Thanh Hoa Province Center for Disease Control said that the cause of skin itching in Vinh Hoa Commune has not yet been determined, so it is recommended that people with symptoms of itchy rash should go to a medical facility for examination and treatment. People need to do a good job of environmental sanitation.

Those who have been examined and advised to undergo treatment according to the Thanh Hoa Dermatology Hospital’s protocol. After two weeks, the health department will re-examine and re-evaluate the treatment protocol for the people.
