Thousands of people participate in the Ba Binh Duong Pagoda festival

On the afternoon of February 12 (the 15th day of the first lunar month), thousands of people flocked to the streets around Ba Binh Duong Pagoda (Phu Cuong Ward, Thu Dau Mot City) to participate in the procession of Ba's palanquin.

At exactly 4:00 p.m., the procession carrying the Lady's palanquin began marching from the Lady's temple, passing through many central streets with the participation of 60 groups and more than 1,000 people.

The Ba Binh Duong Pagoda Festival takes place from the beginning of the new year At Ty 2025, with the main ceremony today. This is one of the major festivals of Binh Duong province and the Southern region, attracting tens of thousands of participants.

The convoy of cars carrying actors playing the role of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara attracted the attention of the people.

People lined both sides of Tran Hung Dao Street to watch the procession carrying the Lady's palanquin.

Every time the convoy passed, the fairies took turns throwing fortunes down to the crowd that raised their hands to receive them.

Crowds of people jostle to receive blessings from the carts carrying male and female fairies.

Lion and dragon dance troupes performed enthusiastically on the streets, people cheered and shot confetti to encourage the special performances.

At intersections with wide roads, lion and dragon dance troupes stop to perform for festival-goers.

A "sea of people" stood tightly around Thu Dau Mot market area when the procession carrying the Lady's palanquin passed by.

People found many high places, climbed on trucks,... to watch the procession.

Mr. Hoang Giang (Thu Dau Mot City) prays for his family's luck and peace in the new year when the Lady's palanquin passes by his house.

"Every year this occasion is bustling, people from everywhere flock here, crowded. Everyone eagerly awaits, it only happens once a year so people will temporarily stop their family work to go to Ba Temple, watch the procession of Ba's palanquin", said Mr. Giang.

At 6 p.m., the procession carrying the Lady's palanquin moved around Thu Dau Mot market. The sun was setting, but the crowd watching the procession still filled the streets.

After nearly 3 hours of carrying the palanquin through many central streets, the statue of Thien Hau was brought back to Ba Temple.

Thu Dau Mot City Secretary - Mr. Nguyen Van Dong and local government representatives received the statue of the Lady from the procession and placed it back on the altar after the parade ended.

As soon as the statue of the Lady was brought back to the temple, people outside the temple began to rush in, jostling and pushing each other to the incense burner area in the main hall to take the ashes home.

People believe that taking the incense ash from the temple to put on the altar or put in their wallet will bring good luck in the new year. Therefore, many people try to push through the crowd to try to get a handful of ash to take home.
