Notably, in Europe, consumers increasingly prioritize unique, environmentally friendly products with cultural identity. In particular, the Millennials (Gen Y), a group that accounts for 45% of the market share, and more than 70% of urban consumers prioritize choosing handmade products.
The Vietnam Handicraft Export Association believes that our country's rattan and bamboo industry can potentially account for 10-15% of the world market share and export turnover is estimated to grow at an average of 29.5% per year.
As the global bamboo market size is expected to reach nearly 83 billion USD by 2028, rattan and bamboo could bring in billions of USD for Vietnam.
