For over two days, hundreds of tractor-trailers carrying potash and coal have been stuck along National Highway 12C, near the Lao-Viet International Port (Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh).

These vehicles are waiting in line because ships cannot dock to pick up goods due to rough seas.

Meanwhile, the infrastructure of the terminal is narrow, there is not enough parking space. Therefore, vehicles have to stop on Highway 12C or in empty lots at the entrance to the gas station.

Notably, this route has many trucks carrying wood chips, gasoline and other vehicles passing by in cold, rainy weather, leading to safety risks.

According to Mr. Pham Quoc Luong, Deputy Director of Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company, the influence of cold air causes the Ha Tinh sea area to have level 6 winds, gusting to level 7-8, and rough seas.

The ship has not been able to dock, causing a series of tractor-trailers, mainly carrying transit goods from Laos to China and South Korea, to be unable to unload.

The company has encouraged and shared with shippers and drivers. When the weather is favorable and the ship arrives safely at the port, the unit will mobilize forces and means to clear the goods as quickly as possible.
