Sand and soil overflowed onto Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway, causing traffic congestion.

On the morning of September 7, a representative of the Road Management Office IV.1 (Vietnam Road Administration, Ministry of Construction ) said that sand landslides continued to occur on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, affecting traffic.

At about 2:00 a.m. the same day, on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway, at Km 215+620 (Ham Liem commune, Lam Dong province), prolonged heavy rain caused a landslide on the positive slope, a large amount of sand and soil from above poured onto the road.

According to records, the landslide was about 30m long, 50cm thick on average, occupying an entire lane, seriously obstructing traffic.

At the time of the incident, traffic was congested and moving slowly.

Many human resources and vehicles overcome the situation of sand overflowing onto the highway.

Upon receiving the information, 886 - Thanh Nam Construction Investment Company (the unit managing the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway) deployed forces and a system of signs to regulate traffic. At the same time, the unit urgently blocked the flow, cleared sand and soil, created a temporary path for vehicles to move through the area, initially ensuring single-lane traffic.

As of around 10:00 a.m. on September 7, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway management unit and relevant authorities were still coordinating to thoroughly handle the situation of sand overflowing onto the road surface, in order to soon ensure safety for people and vehicles.

Previously, at about 10:10 p.m. on September 2, about 300 meters from the above-mentioned landslide location, at Km215+300, a similar landslide occurred, causing traffic difficulties for many hours.

According to local people, the reason for the sand spilling onto the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway is that there is a mineral mine (sand mining - PV) on the hill and when it rains heavily, water and sand flow onto the highway. However, the official cause of the incident has not yet been determined and announced by the authorities.

On the afternoon of September 6, at the underpass and service road along Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway (in the area of Song Thang bridge, Ham Thuan commune, Lam Dong province), deep flooding occurred, disrupting traffic.
The underpass area and residential access road along Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway are flooded.
The rising water at Song Thang Bridge has caused the residential road to be cut off on both sides. People cannot pass through this location. Those who want to pass through the above area have to take a longer detour. Up to now, this area is still flooded.
