At the western gateway of the city, Hanoi Police focused on directing vehicles, avoiding restricted areas to serve the special art program "80 Years of Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" at My Dinh National Stadium.
Similarly, the area of Ba Dinh Square and Hoan Kiem Lake was also cordoned off by the authorities. Meanwhile, people from all over the place poured in as the day went on. Nearby roads such as Hai Ba Trung, Ly Thuong Kiet, Quang Trung, Phan Chu Trinh, Ly Thai To, Le Duan, etc. were congested.
Authorities were on hand to provide guidance and clear the traffic, but vehicles were still having difficulty moving. By the afternoon of September 1, the sidewalks of many streets where the parade was passing were packed with people reserving their seats. Authorities were on duty 24/7 to ensure order and safety for people attending the ceremony and vehicles participating in traffic.
In particular, serious traffic congestion has occurred on many routes leading to the National Exhibition Center. Faced with a large influx of people that shows no signs of abating, Hanoi City Police have issued traffic diversion notices, banned and restricted some vehicles, and mobilized forces to be on duty to guide and ensure traffic safety and order for residents and tourists.
Information from Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 (Department 6 - Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security ) said that during the September 2nd holiday, the number of vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces and cities traveling on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet... highways to the Central provinces was quite large, and the functional forces were on duty 24/7 to organize and regulate.
From September 31 to September 1, there were a number of minor traffic collisions on the Eastern expressways, but they were promptly handled by authorities, so there was no local congestion.
In Lam Dong province, due to the evenly distributed number of visitors during the holidays, the traffic on national highways and mountain passes connecting Lam Dong such as national highways 27C, 20, 28, 55 is quite clear. However, national highway 28B connecting Mui Ne - Da Lat (Lam Dong) is in the process of being renovated and upgraded, so traffic is difficult.
In Da Lat, during rush hours in the morning and evening, some roads in the central area experience local congestion. Around Da Lat market, vehicles move slowly. On the main roads leading to Mui Ne tourist area (Lam Dong province), the number of vehicles moving is very high but there is no congestion.
In Khanh Hoa province, the police force has deployed many measures to ensure security, order and traffic safety during the holiday. For the special art program at two locations in Nha Trang and Phan Rang wards on the evening of September 2, the Traffic Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police deployed forces to block, divert and regulate traffic until the end of the program.
People are advised to proactively choose appropriate time and route and follow the instructions of authorities.
