According to records, the rain started at around 5pm and lasted until after 7pm, right when people were getting off work. Many roads were flooded, causing traffic jams to occur across the area. After 7pm, the traffic was still crowded and moving was extremely difficult.

In the downtown area, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Ly Tu Trong, Pasteur, Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Van Cu... streets are all packed with vehicles.
Phu Dong intersection and Hang Xanh roundabout became “hot spots”, the line of vehicles stretched for kilometers, moving slowly. Many motorcyclists were forced to climb onto the sidewalk to escape the traffic. Especially on Highway 13, passing Binh Trieu Bridge, both directions of vehicles were almost stationary.
At the An Suong intersection, Truong Chinh, Highway 1, and Phan Van Hon routes, there was also serious congestion. The An Suong overpass was overloaded both above and below, with the line of vehicles stretching for kilometers.
Meanwhile, around Tan Son Nhat airport, Cong Hoa, Hoang Van Thu, and Truong Son routes are constantly congested, many passengers are worried about missing their flights.

On Hanoi Highway, Nguyen Xien, Nguyen Duy Trinh, the situation is not any better as vehicles have difficulty moving; Saigon Bridge is congested all the way to Hang Xanh intersection.
On routes like Huynh Tan Phat and Le Van Luong, the water was deep, cars and motorbikes were lined up in long lines, moving slowly.
Although traffic police, public security and youth volunteers were on duty early to regulate traffic, the large number of vehicles, combined with the effects of flooding, made traffic extremely tense.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, Ho Chi Minh City is at the peak of the rainy season, with erratic weather, heavy rains often concentrated in the late afternoon. People are advised to proactively monitor weather forecasts, limit travel during rush hours if it rains, and check their vehicles to avoid accidents when passing through flooded areas.
