According to the latest information from the National Data Association, the Global Data Expert Network - VDEN (Vietnam Data Expert Network) mobilizes the strength of the Vietnamese expert community around the world to participate in building a national data ecosystem.

The VDEN network is built and operated based on 5 principles and will carry out 5 key task groups. The network is expected to launch on October 16, 2025 in Hue city.

Global context and opportunities for Vietnam

In the world, many countries have quickly built open data networks and multi-stakeholder expert communities. These include BDVA and European Health Data Space (EU), Data.gov and Research Data Alliance (USA), K-Data Network (Korea), or AI Singapore and Data Science Consortium (Singapore). These models are all based on effective connections between the State - Enterprises - Research Institutes - Independent Experts, creating a foundation for data economic growth.

Vietnam is also entering the acceleration phase of digital transformation and innovation, opening up a golden opportunity to build national and international data cooperation models. In that context, the establishment of the Global Data Experts Network is extremely necessary, to mobilize global Vietnamese intelligence in the field of data, contributing to the development of the digital economy, digital government, digital society, and enhancing Vietnam's position in the global data value chain.

The VDEN network is built and operated based on 5 principles. These are:

Voluntary - Cooperation - Mutual Development: Members participate voluntarily and cooperate to share knowledge, promote innovation and develop the data economy.

Transparency - Accountability - Integrity: Information, data, and operations are open and transparent; members are accountable for their professional contributions and adherence to ethical standards.

Science - Quality - Continuous Innovation: Prioritizing scientific approaches, ensuring professional quality and updating new technology and data trends.

Security - Respect for privacy - Compliance with the law: data mining and sharing activities comply with national laws, international regulations and protect the legitimate rights of relevant parties.

Global Connection - Promoting Vietnamese Identity: Expanding international cooperation, learning from global experiences, while promoting the strengths and values of the Vietnamese community.

Connecting Vietnamese intelligence globally

With the goal of becoming a "data bridge" for Vietnamese people at home and abroad, VDEN aims to share knowledge, experience, and initiatives, contributing to the development of an autonomous, creative, and internationally integrated data economy in Vietnam.

The network will carry out five key tasks. These are: Sharing knowledge and experience: Creating a forum for exchanging new methods, technologies and data trends.

Connecting resources: Building close relationships between 4 parties (State - Enterprise - Academia - Experts) to optimize technology human resources.

Support policy and standards development: Provide input to policymakers, propose legal frameworks, data standards.

Promote innovation: Create a collaborative environment, encourage the development of new projects and data products.

Developing high-quality human resources: Organizing training, workshops, and mentoring for the next generation of Data technology professionals.

The launch event, expected to gather many domestic and foreign data experts, opens up a new space for cooperation so that data can truly become a driving force for national development.
