On the afternoon of September 16, Hanoi FC and coach Makoto Teguramori officially terminated their contract after nearly 1 year of working together. This was a decision that many people predicted because the Japanese coach could not help the capital team achieve the desired results at the beginning of the 2025/26 season.
Previously, Coach Makoto Teguramori confirmed that he was willing to part ways to help the team find the right person and achieve better results. Thus, Coach Teguramori is the first coach to leave the hot seat in V-League 2025/26.
After parting ways with coach Makoto Teguramori, Hanoi FC's leadership appointed Mr. Yusuke Adachi - Technical Director, as acting head coach, to prepare for round 4 of LPBank V-League.

Coach Makoto Teguramori signed a contract with Hanoi FC in February 2025. The strategist, born in 1967, led the Japanese U23 team to win the Asian Championship in 2016 and won a ticket to the Rio Olympics. He is the former teacher of many Japanese stars such as Wataru Endo and Takumi Minamino.
In the 2024/25 season, coach Makoto Teguramori helped Hanoi FC finish second in the V-League, thereby being in the top 3 of the Vietnam National Championship for the 15th consecutive time. In the first period under the Japanese strategist, Hanoi FC had 9 wins, 2 draws and only 2 losses. Notably, Van Quyet and his teammates had a streak of 7 consecutive unbeaten matches, while coach Makoto was honored with the title of Best Coach of April 2025.
However, entering the 2025/26 season, Hanoi FC did not perform well with 3 winless matches in the V-League (ranked second to last in the rankings) and was eliminated early in the National Cup (lost 0-1 to The Cong Viettel ). Coach Makoto Teguramori said he took full responsibility for the team's performance, and the decision to resign was made by the Japanese coach on the afternoon of September 16.
