The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has sent a document to the People's Committees of wards and communes; affiliated units and schools. The document is implemented in accordance with Official Dispatch No. 1753/CD-BGDDT dated October 2, 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training on overcoming the consequences of Storm No. 10 and proactively responding to Storm No. 11; Official Dispatch No. 16/CD-UBND dated October 4, 2025 of the City People's Committee on urgently deploying response work to Storm No. 11 (Storm Matmo);
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of October 5, 2025 to October 7, 2025, in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, there will be heavy rain, locally very heavy rain.
To ensure the safety of students and teachers, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requests that units let students take a day off from school on October 6, 2025 (Monday) and switch from in-person teaching to online teaching while continuing to monitor the weather situation in the following days to promptly and flexibly handle situations in teaching and learning.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training had issued a document requesting schools to regularly monitor the situation of storm No. 11 to promptly adjust flexible teaching plans, choose appropriate forms; at the same time, proactively report to the People's Committees of wards and communes; related units and the Department for coordination and direction.
It clearly states that units and educational institutions with boarding students must strictly manage students. The movement of students must be closely coordinated between the school and the family according to the plan and direction of the local government, ensuring absolute safety. At the same time, prepare enough drinking water, food, and provisions to ensure the living needs of students staying at school during storms.
Faced with the developments of natural disasters, storms, floods, and epidemics, heads of educational institutions need to regularly monitor the situation, promptly adjust flexible teaching and learning plans, and choose appropriate forms; at the same time, proactively report to the People's Committees of wards and communes; relevant units and the Department of Education and Training for coordination, direction, and handling.
