Starting from June 1, Kim Bong carpentry village will have guided tours including: Learning about the history and culture of Kim Bong carpentry village; visiting traditional craft village exhibition houses, shipbuilding and repair facilities, woodworking production facilities, Cam Kim market; watching traditional craft performances and participating in experiences as artisans, carpenters, mat weavers, basket weavers, etc.

The opening of the Kim Bong Carpentry Village tour guide service is one of the contents that Hoi An has committed to in its candidacy to join the "UNESCO Creative Cities" network in the field of crafts and folk arts.

With its rich history and culture, beautiful natural landscapes, and friendly, kind-hearted local people, Kim Bong carpentry village promises to be an attractive sightseeing and experience for visitors on their journey to explore Hoi An.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee Nguyen The Hung said that this is the result of a long period of active efforts by agencies, departments, authorities and people of Cam Kim commune.

"In the near future, there will be many difficulties and challenges in management and operation; in organizing sightseeing, tourism and service activities in the carpentry village; in sharing benefits with the community... but today will be a new beginning with the belief in a bright and prosperous future for the locality. Thereby, we strive with the city to complete the goal of preserving and promoting the historical and cultural values ​​- people, integrating into the world but not dissolving the values ​​of craft villages, catching up with the trend of sustainable tourism development in the new period" - Mr. Hung said.

According to the Center for Culture, Information and Tourism of Hoi An city, in phase 2 (expected to start from the second quarter of 2025), additional activities will be organized such as: Organizing tours combining visits to historical and cultural sites, experiencing other local occupations, combining experiences of eco-tourism - clean agriculture - fisheries; organizing tours linking within Hoi An and neighboring localities...
