Quang Tri Provincial Red Cross Society received more than 29 billion VND in support of the Cuban people.

QTO - After 65 days of responding to the program "65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship", by the end of October 16, units, organizations and individuals in Quang Tri province had donated more than 29 billion VND through the receiving channel of the Provincial Red Cross (RC) to support the Cuban people to overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters, epidemics and economic crisis.

This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025). The program was implemented from August 13 to October 16 to mobilize resources to support the Cuban people to overcome difficulties, in the context of the country's socio-economic situation being severely affected by natural disasters, epidemics and embargo policies. Along with contributing to support the Cuban people through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Red Cross Society of Quang Tri province also received active participation and response from agencies, units, organizations and individuals in the province.

“By the end of October 16, after closing the account portal to receive support for the program “65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship”, the Red Cross Society of Quang Tri province had received more than 29 billion VND, ranking first among 34 provinces and cities in terms of the amount of support for the Cuban people through the receiving channel of the local Red Cross Society”, said Ms. Mai Thi Kim Nhung, President of the Red Cross Society of Quang Tri province.

These impressive figures are a clear demonstration of the gratitude and remembrance of the assistance that the Cuban Party, State and People have given to Vietnam in general and Quang Tri province in particular during the war years as well as in the process of building the country. Thereby, contributing to further enhancing the image of a benevolent Vietnam, the rare pure and loyal solidarity between the two countries in the two hemispheres.
