On October 18, the leader of the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward said that on the afternoon of October 17, the Ward's Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs Department coordinated with the Ward Police to mobilize people to hand over the python that they caught on a treetop in the area near Nha Trang Tourist Wharf.

By the evening of the same day, the people brought the python to the ward headquarters to hand it over. After checking the python's condition, it was indeed the individual that people discovered at Nha Trang Tourist Wharf, the ward People's Committee completed the procedures to receive and hand over the python to the Nha Trang - Dien Khanh Forest Protection Department for care and release into the wild.

Previously, Khanh Hoa Newspaper reported that at noon on October 17, some drivers driving tourist shuttles discovered a python crawling on a tree in the area near the parking lot of Nha Trang Tourist Wharf. At about 4:30 p.m. the same day, a group of people used sticks and nooses to catch and then take the python away. According to observations, the python was about 2 meters long and weighed about 5 kg.
