Conference to review cultural, sports and tourism work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025

On the morning of December 25, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) of Thanh Hoa held a conference to review the work of culture, sports and tourism in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025. Attending the conference were comrade: Dau Thanh Tung, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, and localities in the province.

Overview of the conference

In 2024, the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the entire culture, sports, tourism, and family sector have made efforts to overcome difficulties to carry out their tasks, bringing the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and family to many outstanding achievements. Specifically, cultural and artistic activities took place enthusiastically, richly, and widely in all regions and localities in the province, associated with the propaganda of important political and historical events of the country. The work of preserving and promoting cultural values ​​was focused on, during the year, 6 more intangible cultural heritages of the province were recognized as National Intangible Cultural Heritages; 2 relics were granted provincial-level relic ranking certificates. Many unique traditional festivals were held, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate. Athletes of high-performance teams and sports have competed in 149 tournaments (121 national tournaments, 28 international tournaments), winning 1,010 medals of all kinds, exceeding the assigned plan target. The total number of tourists to Thanh Hoa is estimated at 15.3 million (of which international tourists are estimated at 719 thousand), up 22.5%, reaching 110.9% of the plan. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 33,815 billion VND (of which total revenue from international tourists is 375 million USD), up 38% compared to 2023, reaching 104.4% of the plan for 2024.

At the conference, delegates shared creative ways to effectively carry out cultural, sports and tourism tasks. At the same time, they pointed out the limitations and difficulties in the implementation process at the local level and solutions to overcome them in the coming time. Speaking at the conference, Comrade Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector in 2024. Emphasizing that 2025 is the final year of implementing the Socio -Economic Development Plan for the period 2021-2025, the year to prepare the best conditions for successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector continue to strive to overcome difficulties; Focus on drastically and effectively implementing the tasks set out by the industry, as well as effectively implementing the program to improve the quality of culture and the program to develop tourism. Closely coordinate with departments, branches and localities in consulting and proposing programs, projects and regulations in the field of culture, sports and tourism. Further strengthen state management in cultural heritage management activities; management, preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of relics in the whole province; promote socialization and mobilize resources to carry out tasks.
At the conference, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched the patriotic emulation movement in 2025 in the whole industry; announced the decision to reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in performing the tasks of culture, sports and tourism in 2024.
