Brocade colors on Pu Luong land

From ancient times to the present, the Thai ethnic people in Pu Luong commune have preserved for themselves a treasure trove of extremely rich cultural heritage, the most prominent of which is brocade weaving. For the people here, brocade weaving not only reflects the rich spiritual life, but is also a source of pride and a unique cultural mark of this land.

Lan Ngoai village is a famous traditional brocade weaving village of the Thai ethnic group since the 18th century and has developed into a craft village, attracting tourists to visit, experience and shop for unique products.

With the skillful hands of Thai women, brocade products are increasingly asserting their position in the market, being chosen and purchased by many tourists. Thereby, contributing to preserving the traditional brocade weaving profession and increasing income for the people.

Ms. Ha Thi Dung - a passionate researcher and maintainer of traditional brocade weaving in the commune has coordinated and linked with dozens of other local women to maintain the craft and purchase fabrics and other brocade products. Ms. Dung said that traditional brocade products are quite diverse and rich, meeting the needs of daily clothing and practicing rituals, beliefs, and community activities.

The brocade products woven by women at Ms. Dung's facility are quite diverse, from women's dresses...

...to men's clothing.

The armrests are also carefully and meticulously woven.

Thanks to the preservation of brocade weaving, traditional costumes are often worn by women in the commune during festivals, holidays and Tet.
