At the meeting, veteran journalists reviewed together the arduous struggle of the public press in Saigon, under the leadership of the Party from after the 1954 Geneva Agreement until the day of national reunification.
A highlight was the event of "Journalists Go Begging" Day (October 10, 1974), when journalists with items such as conical hats, bags, sticks... took to the streets to protest against Decree 007 signed and issued by the puppet President Nguyen Van Thieu.

Ms. Le Lieu Suong, member of the Executive Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Resistance Tradition Club - Press Bloc, said that the bloc currently has 27 members, the oldest of whom is 94 years old. Over the years, the members have always actively contributed valuable ideas to the development of the locality, while constantly sharing experiences and participating in the work of educating traditions for the younger generation.


On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Resistance Tradition Club - Press Bloc presented gifts to express concern and sharing to two elderly members aged 93 and 94.
