Open direction for agricultural tourism

Previously, when talking about tourism in Binh Thuan , people often only mentioned sea tourism. But now, there are more agricultural farms combined with experiential tourism and eco-tourism, so Binh Thuan's tourism products are richer and more diverse than before.

On weekends, Le My vineyard (Phuoc The commune, Tuy Phong district) is very crowded with tourists. The owner of the vineyard belongs to the 8x generation, starting a business with nearly 1 hectare of green and pink grapes cultivated in a spread-out crop. Every time the vineyards ripen, visitors will check-in, enjoy the fruit in the garden, buy fresh grapes and grape products such as grape wine, grape honey, raisins... Recently, the owner of this garden has also linked up with about 20 households to cultivate 4 hectares of safe grapes in a spread-out crop method so that there are always ripe grapes to serve tourists. There are times when up to 30 tourist buses visit the vineyard. Since then, it has created jobs for about a dozen workers while the income of the associated gardeners has increased by more than 20%. This place has become an attractive garden tourist destination not inferior to the grape capital of Ninh Thuan , like a "magnet" attracting visitors to Tuy Phong.

Mr. Nhu Quoc Thich, Head of the Agriculture Department of Tuy Phong district, said that agricultural cultivation combined with tourism has developed in recent years in the district. “In the district, there is a tourist area of Co Thach pagoda. Every time visitors come to visit the pagoda, they will want to visit the vineyards in the district. That is why in Phuoc The commune, some households have produced grape wine and some honey products related to grapes to sell to tourists. In the coming time, the locality will continue to develop models like this effectively to bring a stable life to the people,” Mr. Thich shared.

With the same approach as above, Ba Tuong farm (Thien Nghiep commune, Phan Thiet city) has also focused on clean agricultural production while attracting visitors to visit, experience and enjoy local specialties. Accordingly, this farm has opened its doors to welcome visitors to visit and enjoy Thien Nghiep coconut every day of the week. Not only that, when coming here, visitors are also guided to experience how to care for and feed specialties such as pigeons, hybrid jungle fowls and sand lizards. Ba Tuong farm has built an ecosystem linking production and consumption of clean specialties for many years, but has only combined it with experiential tourism and enjoying specialty dishes in the past year. This new and interesting way of combining agriculture with tourism has received high appreciation from local authorities and tourists.

Mr. Phan Van Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Thuan, said that agrotourism is on the right track, exploiting the potential strengths of agriculture combined with tourism to create high added value. “In the coming time, developing agrotourism associated with new rural construction will continue to be promoted. This is also one of the tasks mentioned in Resolution 05/2021 of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee on developing modern, sustainable agriculture with high added value.
