“Coach Kim told us to be patient. The team needed to move the ball faster, keep the tempo and take advantage of the opportunities. We did that and scored two more goals in the second half. The Vietnamese team has many good and smart players, so the coordination became very favorable,” Jason shared.
Not long after joining the Vietnam team, Jason said he clearly felt the positive atmosphere and solidarity within the team: “I am very proud and happy. When I wore the Vietnam team jersey, I felt really good. My teammates welcomed me warmly, helping me quickly integrate, feel more comfortable and confident. The way we played in the last match made me very happy.”
Looking back at the victory over Nepal on October 9, the midfielder born in 2000 highly appreciated the fighting spirit of his opponent: “Nepal defended firmly and counter-attacked quickly, causing us many difficulties. But the whole team controlled the game well, especially the defense. I am satisfied with the collective performance.”
Although happy with the result, Jason said coach Kim Sang-sik is still highly focused and has not said much about the upcoming rematch. “We have not discussed the 3-1 victory yet. I think in the next training sessions, the coaching staff will adjust the tactics further. We played well, but we need to be more aggressive in transitional defense situations. When we lose the ball, the whole team must press harder to regain control as quickly as possible,” said the left-back of the Vietnamese team.
With a positive spirit, progress and trust from coach Kim Sang-sik, Jason Quang Vinh is gradually asserting his position in the Vietnam team - a new factor bringing energy, youth and aspiration to the "Golden Star Warriors".
