Despite creating several notable chances, "Garuda" still could not penetrate Iraq's disciplined and experienced defense.

Entering the second half, coach Kluivert added more attacking elements such as Ole ter Haar Romeny and Miliano Jonathans to increase pressure.

However, the turning point of the match belonged to Iraq. In the 76th minute, Zidane Iqbal – a former Manchester United player – fired a low, dangerous shot from the edge of the penalty area, defeating goalkeeper Maarten Paes, opening the score 1-0.

In the remaining time, Indonesia pushed up their formation to find an equalizer but were powerless against Iraq's solid defense. Their desperate efforts earned them more yellow cards, including Ole Romeny and Calvin Verdonk.
