Promoting Vietnam - Japan cooperation in training high-quality human resources

On October 10 in Hanoi, President of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association To Huy Rua received Special Advisor to the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Takebe Tsutomu on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam and the opening ceremony of the Vietnam - Japan University. The two sides discussed the direction of bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of education - training and strengthening the connection between the two peoples in the new period.

At the meeting, Mr. To Huy Rua expressed his pleasure in meeting Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, a close friend of Vietnam, and informed about the country's socio-economic situation. He said that Vietnam is entering a new era - an era of development, prosperity, and strength, with strong momentum and aspirations, clearly demonstrated on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. He pointed out Vietnam's major orientations, emphasizing the "four pillars" bringing the country into a new stage of development, including: Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution 59-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2025 of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation; Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW dated April 30, 2025 on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on private economic development.

He said that Vietnam is promoting reform of the apparatus, streamlining the payroll, improving management efficiency and investing heavily in education - training, energy, social security... Thanks to that, according to the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), in the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam's GDP growth is estimated at 7.85%, budget revenue meets the yearly plan, creating conditions to improve people's lives, expanding health care policies and free education for high school students.

Regarding bilateral cooperation, Mr. To Huy Rua said that the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association will organize a working delegation to Japan to meet with Japanese - Vietnamese associations, promote exchange activities, restore and deepen people-to-people relations between the two countries. He hopes that Mr. Takebe and Japanese friends will continue to support and accompany Vietnam.

Regarding the development of the Vietnam - Japan University, he suggested that quality go hand in hand with quantity, training according to Vietnam's needs and mobilizing social resources to soon turn the school into the "Harvard of Asia".

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu said that Vietnam - Japan University currently has more than 2,000 students, of which 100 students are being trained in the field of semiconductors - a newly opened field of study to meet Vietnam's high-tech human resource needs.

He expressed his impression and admiration for Vietnam's strong changes. According to him, Vietnam is showing great determination in implementing resolutions on science, technology, innovation, education and training... He also hopes that Japan will accompany Vietnam as a comprehensive strategic partner and natural ally in the development process.

Referring to educational cooperation, Mr. Takebe said that the goal of Vietnam - Japan University is to become an international university, training high-quality human resources capable of meeting domestic and international needs. He also shared the idea of ​​establishing an academy to train in Japanese culture, language and science - technology, contributing to providing skilled human resources and good practical capacity for the two countries.
