Recently, a clip appeared on social networks recording a conversation between a bus ticket inspector and a girl, moving netizens.
The owner of the clip, Mr. Pham Phuong Nam (born in 1994, residing in Quang Binh province), said the incident happened on a bus traveling from Dong Hoi city to Ba Don town (Quang Binh province).
A girl going for dialysis didn't have enough money, so the male ticket inspector immediately gave her free money (Photo cut from clip: Provided by the character).
In the clip, Mr. Nam approached the female passenger and learned that she wanted to go from Ba Cu hospital to Nhon Trach intersection. At that time, he quoted a price of 20,000 VND.
However, the girl suddenly became shy and embarrassed, saying that she only had 12,000 VND left because she had just returned from dialysis. Seeing this, Mr. Nam immediately took out a ticket and gave it to her, signaling that he would not take the money.
Before Nam's actions, the girl kept rubbing her eyes, looking emotional.
"When I asked, the girl said she had been on dialysis for 5 years. Knowing her situation, I felt sorry for her and decided not to take her fare. At moments like that, I just want to help others as much as possible. Because I feel I am luckier than many people," Nam confided.
The clip posted on social media has attracted millions of views and interactions. Many people expressed that they also went through dialysis like the girl. They also ran out of money at times, had no money to pay for the bus, but were fortunate to receive help from people around them.
Having been a bus conductor for over 10 years, Mr. Nam shared that he has encountered many similar heartbreaking cases. He has given free bus tickets to disabled people and elderly people in difficult circumstances many times.
Talking about his job, Mr. Nam said that he used to be a fisherman. The sea life is getting more and more difficult, so he decided to go ashore to work as a bus boy until now. At first, he encountered many challenges, often being annoyed by customers and treated badly because he did not know the way.
However, he was not upset but always strived to make his work better. Every day, the young man worked 9 hours, with an income just enough to cover his living expenses.
"I do this to make life easier. After helping others, I feel happier and appreciate life more," Nam confided.
