October Cultural Colors with the theme "You are the flower of the mountain"

From October 1 to 31, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Doai Phuong, Hanoi), a series of exciting activities will take place with the theme "I am the flower of the mountain". The program aims to honor the traditional identity and customs of the community of 54 ethnic groups in the "Common House".

With daily and weekend programs and many highlight events, visitors can participate in rituals and festivals, learn about customs and enjoy unique folk cultural performances. Through this, the public has more opportunities to feel traditional values, village solidarity and national pride.

The highlight is the reenactment of the Water Drop Offering Ceremony of the Ba Na people ( Gia Lai ). This is an important ritual in spiritual life, expressing faith in the water god, praying for favorable weather, bountiful crops, and the villagers' prosperity and health. The ceremony takes place solemnly, followed by a vibrant festival with gongs, xoang, rice wine and folk games... vividly recreating the cultural features that unite the community.

In addition, the exchange program “Colors and fragrances of the great forest” introduces folk songs, folk dances, and traditional musical instruments performed by the Ba Na people and the Xo Dang, Co Tu, Ta Oi, and Gia Rai ethnic groups. The Ba Na cultural space is also recreated with handicrafts, brocade weaving, folk games, traditional cuisine , and costume performances.

The weekend activities are diverse: The folk song and dance program “October Flowers” ​​honors women on the occasion of the Vietnam Women’s Union’s founding day, October 20; “Mountain and Forest Melody” by the Central Highlands people praising their homeland, the Party and Uncle Ho; “The Call of Love Season” by the northern ethnic communities with solidarity dances. Visitors will immerse themselves in the folk activities, musical instrument performances, traditional games and enjoy regional cuisine.

Traditional cultural experiences take place throughout with folk games such as checkers, stilts, bamboo dancing, swinging, painting, and trying on traditional costumes. This is an opportunity for students and teenagers to practice their thinking, creative skills, and connect with friends and family during their visit to the Village.

In addition, visitors can also participate in daily and weekend activities of 16 ethnic communities, from experiential tourism programs, making cakes, wrapping cakes, playing folk games to praying for peace and blessings at the spiritual space of Khmer pagodas, Cham towers... In October, the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony will also take place at Khmer pagodas. This is one of the major festivals of Theravada Buddhism, an opportunity for Buddhists to express their respect, gratitude and strengthen solidarity between lay people and monks.

The diverse and rich series of activities with the theme "I am the flower of the mountain" not only honors the cultural heritage of Vietnamese ethnic groups, creates a space for exchange and experience and contributes to enriching the spiritual life of the people... at the same time affirms the role of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism as an attractive cultural and tourist destination this fall.
