(KGO) - The investigation of tourism resources aims to build a tourism resource database system to serve the management, planning, development of tourism products, and development of tourist areas and destinations in Kien Giang province.

On May 12, the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province said that the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement the tourism resource investigation project in Kien Giang province.

Accordingly, the subjects of tourism resource investigation include natural tourism resources and cultural tourism resources.

In which, natural tourism resources include: Natural landscapes, geological factors, geomorphology, climate, hydrology, ecosystems and other natural factors that can be used for tourism development purposes.

Cultural tourism resources include: Historical - cultural relics, revolutionary relics, archeology, architecture; traditional cultural values, festivals, folk arts and other cultural values; creative works of human labor that can be used for tourism development purposes.

The investigation period is from 2025, expected to last 4-5 years; the investigation scope is throughout Kien Giang province.

The People's Committee of Kien Giang province assigned the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province to coordinate with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, localities and relevant units to organize the implementation of tourism resource investigation. At the same time, advise the People's Committee of the province to announce, store and enter data into the annual tourism resource investigation results system...
