You need to time each specific region to be able to take pictures of the ripe rice season in each place, because each region will have a different time of ripening rice. For example, rice in Sa Pa (Lao Cai) ripens early, then other places such as Hoang Su Phi (Ha Giang), then Mu Cang Chai, Tu Le ( Yen Bai ). Usually, from mid to late September is a good time to "hunt" for photos in Mu Cang Chai.

It is important to prepare carefully before setting off because the Northwest rice season is also the rainy season, with storms, flash floods, and landslides, so it is necessary to monitor the weather to limit risks.

You also need to find out in advance the location and time you want to take pictures. Usually, dawn, early morning, afternoon, and sunset are always the times with beautiful oblique light to take pictures of the ripe rice season. Taking pictures at noon will not give beautiful pictures because the sun is overhead, the face is not bright.

The model should stand in the middle of the rice field so that the rice is still visible in the foreground and the background is wide open. Poses can be made to walk or turn their back to make the photo more vivid.

You should choose clothes that match the rice field scene, prioritize monochrome colors such as white, black, red, or pink to easily stand out. Flowing dresses will give a more beautiful image in the middle of nature.

In addition to landscape and portrait photos, you can take pictures of highland people farming, children's smiles, and rice harvest scenes.
