Mu Cang Chai actively prepares to organize the 2025 International Marathon

The 2025 International Marathon “MUCANGCHAI ULTRA TRAIL” is part of the “Golden Season Festival”. This is a unique sports and tourism event, promising to attract thousands of athletes and domestic and international tourists to participate and experience.

As planned, the race will take place on October 3-4, 2025, at the Mu Cang Chai Commune Small Campus.

This is an annual activity held every year when the Mu Cang Chai terraced fields begin to turn yellow.

This year's tournament has 4 competition categories, including distances: 100 km, 50 km, 25 km and 15 km, suitable for many groups of people; the tournament is hosted by Viet Jungle Company Limited in coordination with Mu Cang Chai commune, Lao Cai province.

In particular, the running track is designed to go through terraced fields, between Mong and Thai villages, both challenging endurance and providing interesting experiences of natural scenery and local culture.

Currently, the Organizing Committee is urgently implementing preparation work; running routes are being surveyed and renovated to ensure safety, with clear signs and reasonable relay points.

The tournament is an opportunity to introduce local culture to domestic and international friends.

The Organizing Committee mobilized medical forces, police, militia, self-defense forces, union members and youth to participate in supporting and ensuring absolute safety for athletes and visitors; propaganda work was promoted on media and social networks.

The event is also an opportunity for artisans, producers, and local cooperatives to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists the national traditions, indigenous culture, and specialty products of the highlands.

Not only having sporting significance, the 2025 International Marathon "MUCANGCHAI ULTRA TRAIL" also aims to spread a healthy lifestyle, connect the community, and raise awareness of environmental protection. The organizers encourage athletes and visitors to limit the use of plastic waste, participate in activities to pick up trash on the running track, and plant souvenir trees at the starting and finishing areas.
