Mr. Ho The Anh, General Director of Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) shared: “This is an event, a moment that we have been patiently waiting for for 5 years and 8 months to welcome the return of China Southern Airlines. AHT deeply appreciates the trust of China Southern Airlines in choosing Da Nang as a destination in its plan to restore and expand its flight routes.”

The presence of China Southern Airlines with the Shenzhen - Da Nang - Shenzhen route, one of the world's leading economic and technological centers, will be a strong catalyst, opening up huge opportunities, attracting more tourist and commercial flows.

This has become a "push", creating favorable conditions to bring tourists from Shenzhen to Central Vietnam, as well as opening up more options for people from Da Nang, neighboring provinces and tourists from Vietnam to explore Shenzhen destinations.

These flights not only carry tourists, but also experts and investors interested in exploring investment opportunities in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and International Financial Center. This new route is a bridge for trade and culture, promoting the common development of both Shenzhen and Da Nang.

Similarly, Ms. Mairehaba Yisilayili, representative of China Southern Airlines in Vietnam, shared: as an important gateway to Central Vietnam, with both beautiful natural scenery and a long-standing cultural identity, Da Nang is considered a favorite destination for Chinese tourists.

“Currently, we operate more than 330 routes in and out of China, connecting with more than 40 countries and regions around the world. China Southern Airlines is strongly developing its aviation hub network, connecting Southeast Asia with Europe, America and the world. With this Shenzhen - Da Nang route, we believe it will open a bridge to contribute to promoting economic and tourism cooperation between the two sides,” said Ms. Mairehaba Yisilayili.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, informed that before 2020, China was a key international market for Da Nang tourism with a steady growth in the number of visitors and for many consecutive years held the second position in the top international tourist markets to Da Nang, with 5 regular flights and 29 charter flights to Da Nang. This is a market that is considered to have potential for the city.

After China Southern Airlines resumed its Shenzhen - Da Nang route, the city continued to welcome the ADORA MEDITERRANEA cruise ship from Guangzhou, China, bringing nearly 2,500 Chinese tourists to Tien Sa port for sightseeing.

“This is important for attracting and increasing Chinese tourists to Da Nang in the coming time. The tourism industry will closely coordinate with agencies, tourism businesses, travel agencies, and airlines to improve the quality of products and services, develop diverse experiential tour programs “New Da Nang - New Experience”, safe and friendly, ready to welcome more and more Chinese tourists to visit and experience Da Nang”, Ms. Hanh said.

According to the General Statistics Office, in the past 9 months, Vietnam welcomed over 15.4 million international visitors, an increase of 21.5% over the same period last year, with 1.52 million in September alone, an increase of 19.5%. In terms of market size, China and South Korea continue to be the two largest markets sending visitors to Vietnam tourism, contributing nearly half of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. Of which, China ranked first, reaching 3.9 million (accounting for 25.2%); South Korea ranked second, reaching 3.2 million (accounting for 21%).
